5 Reasons Why We Love Sugar Paste!

Sugar paste

As Renton’s #1 suraging studio, we would love to help you get smooth skin so keep reading and let us help you learn all about the process! Do you want to ditch your razor and have smoother skin that will last through your vacation? Do you need to make your mornings easier and have less to things to think when getting ready? Does the idea of hair removal put you on edge? Last q… Are you just curious if sugaring is right for you? Below are 5 reasons why the ancient process of hair removal known as 'Sugaring' is rapidly gaining popularity and why you should join us in our mission to bring smoother skin to all!

1. Heaven-sent for people with sensitive skin!
Sugaring paste is most often made with just sugar cane, lemon juice (citric acid), and water. We're talking all-natural, people! Sugar is safe to eat and is applied to the skin at room temperature or slightly warmer- it's actually pretty pleasant when you're coming in on a dreary day and even when added to a cup of tea (hair-free, of course). Even better, sugaring is so gentle that you should leave our studio with minor sensitivity and redness after your service. But remember... you should exfoliate your skin no less than 24 hours before a service. Doing so within that 24-hour period compromises your skin by removing dead skin cells that would otherwise be collected by the sugaring paste.

2. Removed in the same direction your hair grows.
Have you ever wondered how to avoid irritation, ingrowns and breakage in your hair removal routine? Sugar paste is applied against the direction of hair growth, molded to ensure that every hair is covered and removed the opposite direction to avoid breakage. Broken hairs are short, cause irritation and do not leave you with the smooth, long-lasting results that you want. Hairs that were on a different growth cycle or recently surfaced after exfoliating can be tweezed from the skin. However, we want the process to be as quick and painless as possible for our clients so please wait at least four to five weeks between shaving or prior hair removal services before coming in for an appointment. Your hair should be long enough that you can gently pinch and tug it.

3. Sugar paste has almost no impact on the environment!
As an environmentally conscious studio, we always strive to reduce the amount of waste produced in the treatment room. Our individual footprint makes more of an impact than we realize and being kind to the planet is more important now than ever before. Sugar Paste is natural and can be removed and reapplied many times- depending on weather conditions and hair density, the same ball of sugar can be used for an entire service! After the service, we throw away the sugar and it decomposes quickly!

4. Removing excess sugar is a breeze.
After your service, if you feel any sticky residue left behind, please feel free to request a damp towel to help remove the sugar. We will be more than happy to accommodate and would never want you to leave sticky.

5. Sugar is surprisingly hygienic!
When your skin is sanitized and prepped for the service we will use a clean set of gloves to grab the perfect amount of paste for the area being sugared and when it no longer efficiently removes any hair or dead skin cells, dispose of it wrapped inside our gloves. By individually portioning our sugar paste and NEVER double-dipping, the sugar pot is free from all bacteria and you can rest assured that you are only receiving the most hygienic and safe service possible.

Now that you are in the know, hurry and book your appointment with us! We can not wait to meet you.
